1) Tell us a bit about the pieces you have in Motherly Musings. What was the inspiration for your work, and do you have any comments or thoughts about your featured work that you would like to share with readers?

The piece I wrote was based on my experience of having a still birth. Writing about it helped me to process the overwhelming emotions. I wrote it only for myself, but shared it with my family. It was submitted to this collection based on the suggestion of my mother, Jen Eddy, who also has a piece in it.

2) How long have you been writing and how did you get started?

I was a terrible writer in school, but after graduation found that I enjoyed writing the occasional entry in a vacation log or even a business letter. I have never written anything for publication.

3) What are you reading right now?

When I’m not reading to the two children I did have, I am reading books from my father like “A Wicked Company, The Forgotten Radicalism of the European Enlightenment” by Philipp Blom, (yes, one l and two p’s). He is trying to keep my brain functioning, which I enjoy. Another recent favorite referral from a friend was “A Walk in the Woods: Rediscovering America on the Appalachian Trail” by Bill Bryson. It made me laugh out loud and I love listening to the way he writes.

4) Any final thoughts, advice, or comments you'd like to leave our readers with?

I wanted to have something funny or profound to say for final thoughts, but my children are pouring sand on each other’s heads and I should go stop them.
